Fund-Raising in Las Vegas
Another successful and well-attended event!!!
Annak ti Candon International, Inc.-Nevada (ATCI-Nevada) held its
second Thanksgiving Jam Session fundraising on November 28, 2009 in
Las Vegas, Nevada.
Members and guests from Nevada and California attended the event. In
his message, ATCI-Nevada President, Dr. Albert B. Gaceta, asked the
members and Candon immigrants to give back to Candon community and
to stay focused on the goals of Annak Ti Candon International, Inc.
(Annak) to help the youths and less fortunate people of Candon.
Specifically, he asked the members to support the on-going
Computerization Program of Annak. He indicated that the proceeds
from this year’s fund-raising will be used to computerize some
elementary schools in Candon City School District 1 and to continue
recognizing and awarding outstanding high school students. Further,
he noted that during his visit early this year, the teachers and
students expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the
computers and library books and reference materials donated by ATCI-Nevada.
ATCI-Nevada Vice-President, Art Mendoza, not only entertained with
his Frank Sinatra songs, but enjoined the Candon immigrants to work
together and unite in helping the youths and less fortunate people
of Candon. Officers and members of ATCI-Nevada were at their best in
hosting this event-great hospitality and excellent food.
