Holds a Successful Fund-Raising in Las Vegas
Annak ti Candon International-Nevada
held its first fundraising on November 29, 2008 at Dance World USA,
Las Vegas, Nevada. The Thanksgiving Jam Session was held to raise
funds for Candon National High School which was recently adopted by
Annak-Nevada (See
Annak-Nevada adopts CNHS). Annak
members from California and other states, and friends of Annak and
guests from Las Vegas attended the event.
In his message, Annak-Nevada President, Dr. Albert B. Gaceta, asked
the members and Candon immigrants to give back to Candon community
and to stay focused on the goals of Annak Ti Candon International,
Inc. (Annak) to help the youths and less fortunate people of Candon.
Specifically, he asked the members to support the on-going
Computerization Program of Annak which has donated computers to 14
elementary and primary schools in Candon School District II. He
congratulated the members of Annak-Nevada for adopting Candon
National High School as beneficiary of their first fund-raising
event.
President Gaceta also commended the Annak Ti Candon International,
Inc. for establishing a cause-oriented association of Candon
immigrants whose primary goal is to help the people of Candon who
have less in life. He recognized the presence of Annak President,
Atty. Omar B. de Peralta, and Annak Vice-President, George Dy, and
commended them for their leadership and vision in organizing Annak
and making it a dynamic association of Candon immigrants.
Annak-Nevada Vice-President, Art Mendoza, enjoined the Candon
immigrants to work together and unite in helping the youths and
economically deprived people of Candon. Mrs. Perlita D. Borge of
Annak ti Candon-Canada joined the call for unity and informed the
members and guests that the Candonians from Canada are supporting
the projects of Annak and will organize to be part of a greater
Annak Ti Candon International, Inc.
Annak-Nevada projected the fundraising was a success and that they
will deliver on their promise to computerize Candon National High
School.
